Don’t be afraid of making mistakes…be afraid of not learning from them!
In today’s crazy VUCA world, organizations are having to become much better at navigating complexity as the world has become increasingly complex and unpredictable. In this session, I bring to life the key themes from the chapter, ‘Make Mistakes and Learn from Them’ and discuss the need for individuals, teams, and organizations to get more comfortable with failure as part of experimental learning in order to address complex problems and create innovative products and services – and in turn achieve & sustain competitive advantage.
Through personal reflection and discussion of organizational case studies, I provide practical tips on how to move towards creating an environment where failure is ‘safe’ and results in learning and where people aren’t afraid to fail!
The audience will get to hear some top tips to help them and their organizations creating a fail-safe, learn fast culture
I have always been fascinated by what drives human behavior. My curiosity for the subject led me to study Psychology and pursue professional accreditation as a Chartered Occupational Psychologist.
Over a 25+ year career, I have been fortunate to work in a variety of HR, People & Organizational Development roles where I have been able to apply psychological knowledge, theory, and practice in supporting leaders, teams, and individuals to increase engagement and improve organizational performance. More recently, as a consultant and co-founder of Project X Partners, I have been supporting organizations embrace Agile Values and Principles to evolve their people practices to increase business agility.
I believe there is no fixed recipe for organizational success: I simply love the experience of working together with people and organizations to help create the right conditions, processes, and ways of working that inspire employees to work at their best and improve the world of work for everyone.
